From Northwest Arkansas, Greyson moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a songwriting and production career while attending Belmont University, where he graduated with honors and degrees in songwriting and audio engineering technology.

Greyson has had a love for music since being forced into piano lessons at five years old. After joining the school orchestra with the violin, picking up the guitar and harmonica, and a shamefully short time spent with the banjo, Greyson plans on planting roots in Nashville for songwriting, performing, and studio recording from either side of the booth. He also composes in his spare time, with a composing credit in a student-led Belmont short film. Greyson is eager for every opportunity that gets him in the room with fellow writers and engineers, and wants to help anyone with their musical projects.

During his time in Nashville, Greyson has been co-writing with other writers and artists in the area, and has recorded projects for other performers. In the spring of 2023, he studied abroad in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he helped lead a recording session and a solo mix session for a local band. He also performed original songs at the historic Sunflower Pub. During his senior year, Greyson performed at both Belmont University’s Writer’s Showcase and Best of the Best Showcase.

His latest single, “The Shakes”, is a departure from his normal sound, showcasing his ability and love for classic, indie, and pop rock in addition to witty lyricism. It was also featured in his first music video, directed by his friend Hayden Hohensee. “The Shakes” is a mixed bag of feelings about college culture, conversations about your ex, and being bad at parties.

In addition to the projects he’s engineering for other artists, he’s working on “Skin and Bones”, his first EP. Or maybe it’s an album. Who’s to say, he’s quite indecisive.

Greyson Gainey is a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who is slowly learning he’s got something to say. Greyson hopes to write songs that sound like rambles from an old friend that doesn’t understand social cues. Since the release of his latest single, “The Shakes”, he’s begun working on his debut EP, “Skin and Bones”.
